Roxy Burger began her illustrious career at the tender age of just 10 years old. It started with the odd TV commercial. This early period in Roxy’s career also made space for a leading role in an international Disney made-for-TV movie as well as a Discovery Kid’s television series, Scout’s Safari, which went on to win an Emmy Award for Best Children’s Television Series.
But African audiences have grown to love Roxy as the bubbly KTV Presenter for over 8 years on MNET. Having started presenting at the age of 12 she has earned the respect of audiences and celebrities alike with her infectious personality and superb interview skills. Her kids presenting career culminated in Roxy being chosen to represent KTV at the 2007 Kid’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California. After finishing matric, Roxy continued her love affair with television by enrolling in a 3 year Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Johannesburg in Audiovisual Production Management. She has now moved on from the world of kids TV and has joined the team at ONE Gospel – she is presenting and producing Teen Gospel Live which broadcasts LIVE four days a week. Roxy is feeling incredibly excited to join ONE Gospel: “I feel so blessed to be a part of an exciting and ground-breaking channel! Especially when it comes to young people there is no relevant Christian programming out there and I’m totally stoked to be providing a funky and fresh platform for young people to speak from. Our show proves that being a young Christian is not something clichéd – it’s a way of life and makes that life so much more fulfilling”. Catch Roxy on TGL LIVE from Monday to Thursday @ 18:00 on ONE Gospel (channel 331). |
